Rioma fabrics were present in the first Alpujarra Slow Fashion show, ‘Tinctus’, a proposal inspired by the world of wine that celebrates sustainable fashion, collaborative design and local craftsmanship. Recently presented at the Training School of the SAE Albayzín Center of Granada, the collection has been entirely made by 16 women from the region, with the support of designer Susana Alvarez, specialized in sustainable fashion.
With a careful selection of fabrics, including references from Rioma, the 15 styles that make up the collection evoke the different stages of the wine-making process – from cultivation to production – through shapes, textures, colors and symbolic details. The catwalk has gathered more than 150 attendees and is part of the European Days of Crafts, held simultaneously in twenty countries to highlight the value of traditional crafts.
Tinctus’ is part of the Alpujarra Slow Fashion project, promoted by the Diputación de Granada and funded by the Ministry of Employment of the Junta de Andalucía, with the aim of promoting women’s entrepreneurship in rural areas, making textile crafts visible and betting on a more conscious fashion. The use of Rioma fabrics in this first edition reinforces the link between textile industry and local creation, promoting networking between designers, artisans and suppliers committed to the territory.
